TegraSeal Products, LLC manufactures high performance bentonite waterproofing systems and cold-joint water stops. Designed for backfilled and blindeside walls, under slabs, decks, tunnels, planters, or greenroof installations. TegraSeal provides design assistance for both adhere and mechanically fastened systems, apporved applicators, independent inspections, with complete waterproofing and water retention systems. Our R&D focuses on making the job of the waterproofing contractor easier, safer, and more efficient.
Sodium Bentonite has the ability to absorb small amounts of water and to prevent the penetration of more water. This is similar to creating a molecular "ball valve" where in the transmission rate through it drops as you increase the pressure. Only the sodium bentonite generates the internal pressure when it gets wet necessary to form a waterproof seal. The confinement of wet bentonite prevents further expansion and therefore stops water absorption and/or penetration. This is the mechanism bentonite uses to waterproof buildings.
How is TegraTite different than ParaSeal? How does your technology compares to the needle punched GCL's and what are your points of difference/competitive advantages? How well do bentonite products in general function with shotcrete-wall structures and more specifically with TegraTite and TripleSeal? Does it not cost more? I use TegraSeal waterproofing systems for my "critical" waterproofing requirements. Why should I use a high performance system on non-critical applications? After the TegraTite Waterproofing System has been installed, does the bentonite ever dehydrate due to drought, lack of ground water or other drying conditions?
