Many of our customers play an active role in constructing their Katahdin Cedar Log Homes. Others, due to busy schedules, remote locations or other circumstances opt for Turnkey Construction. Turnkey Construction is a contract where the builder completes all aspects of the home and the completed house is ready to move in. The builder just turns the keys over to the new owner and they install their furniture and personal belongings. Complete house - including appliances, interior painting and finishing, floor coverings and wall-to-wall carpeting, blinds and drapery hardware, light fixtures, alarm and monitoring systems, among others.
Here at Katahdin Cedar Log Homes, we use every bit of the cedar logs we harvest. One of the products we mill ourselves is our Katahdin Cedar Fencing. Northern White Cedar is an ideal wood to use for fencing as it resists rot, insects and cracking over long periods of time. The raw logs are transported to the slasher, where the operator carefully grades each length for maximum use. Those lengths deemed best for fencing are transported to the mills where we cut lengths of six, eight and ten feet. Then, like the other cedar stock we use in homes, the rough wood is stacked.
At Katahdin Cedar Log Homes, we have spent many years developing a nationwide network of quality dealers to work directly with our customers on an individual basis. While many of our dealers are also builders, others work with local construction contractors. Our nationally recognized training program is designed to teach the techniques specific to building Katahdin Cedar Log Homes. Training and support are very important to us and it is our goal to offer assistance to our local dealers and builders selected by the customer to provide the finest craftsmanship available.
The finest in log cabin living.with all the conveniences!
Our energy envelope system that allows you to meet any energy efficiency code you're looking for also means that the wood you see on the inside is actually paneling over the insulation. A lot of people do the paneling horizontally, so it mimics the solid log walls on the exterior.
Your Friday afternoon moment of zen: blue skies, green leaves, and a beautiful lake. All enjoyable from the deck of your own Katahdin Cedar Log Home!
Right now is the busiest time of year for us up in Oakfield, ME. Current homes are being put on the schedule for production and delivery, while new customers are starting to work with their dealers and our design staff to plan their dreams.
