Melissa Balter has been designing since 2000. Her career began as a manager and buyer for a home furnishings showroom in Montecito, CA. She would help clients choose furniture to accessories to make their homes beautiful, as well as shop for handpicked items from local to all over all over the world. In 2002, Melissa attended Brooks Institute of Photography. During school, she completed many projects of which she designed the sets for, therefore wanted to pursue her passion as a production designer.
