Since 1969, Coleman Carpet Cleaners has been locally owned and operated by the Coleman family. Almost 20 years ago John's son Michael joined in and they've been working together ever since. Truth be told, Michael's been involved longer than that: when Coleman's was a new start-up, there wasn't a "shop" to clean upholstery and area rugs like we've got today. It was all done at their residence. John tells stories of cleaning rugs out on their cement driveway with Michael (about two years old at the time) standing on top of the shampooer, gripping hard with his little fingers and toes, "working" alongside John.
Ask John Coleman if he runs a "green business" and he chuckles. When I started this business 45 years ago, my goal was to treat carpeting the same way a woman cares for her hair-gently shampoo the fibers deep down and then rinse out all the dirt and shampoo with super clean water. I guess we've always been green. Since the shampoo Coleman uses is biodegradable, the result is very green waste-water that's free of any harsh chemicals or pollutants. Of course the secret to Coleman's success are the results his crews achieve-clean, beautiful carpeting that feels soft and luxurious and stays clean longer since no dirt-attracting chemicals are left behind.
