He has degrees in Arboriculture and Urban Forestry from Stockbridge School of Agriculture at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Before starting Lee Tree Company in 1998, he worked in the industry for 26 years, serving 5 years as Vice President of Operations. Mike started the business in his wife's hometown of York, allowing him to spend more time with their 6 children. His eldest son Mitchell is also a graduate of Stockbridge School of Agriculture and works as a certified arborist along side Mike.
The REAL work begins once we are awarded a new project! Detailed shop drawings of all architectural millwork, cabinetry, furniture, etc. are provided to the Home Owners and Architects for review. Upon approval the drawings are distributed to our highly skilled craftsmen. Deposits are received and materials are procured. Each and every product is then created with careful inspection every step of the way. Next products are sent to the finish room where a variety of finishing techniques are available, including water base "green" finishes, hand rubbed oils, stains, hand sprayed or brush applied paint, and durable lacquer or urethane based finishes.
