Even if you don't use your heating system on a daily basis because of our warm climate, it's in your best interest to keep it in good condition all year-round. When experiencing an unexpected cold front, it's comforting to know you can switch on your unit in a moment's notice and warm your home when you need it. Unfortunately, many homeowners in sun-splashed cities neglect their heaters when the temperature stops getting chilly on a daily basis. Such neglect can lead to issues at a later date. When an HVAC system malfunctions, it's time to call an expert to repair the system.
A heat pump is one of the most efficient and versatile heating systems available in the United States. Unlike most heaters, the heat pump doesn't create its own heat. Instead, it extracts heat from the outside air and transports it inside the building. It can also act as an air conditioner by removing heat from your property and cooling the inside of your home in Low Country, South Carolina. Along with removing heat, a heat pump in cooling mode removes excess moisture from the air. Because of how it is designed, a heat pump doesn't use a lot of energy to transport warm or cool air.
Because your ductwork is designed to transport conditioned air throughout your home, your ducts will get dirty over time. Air that passes through the ducts leaves dust and debris in the stystem during each cycle, compromising the indoor air quality in your home. To keep the air in your home as pure as possible, it's best to have your duct system cleaned frequently. Allowing allergens and other airborne irritants to accumulate in the air ducts not only decreases the equipment's performance, it can affect your health and the comfort levels of your home.
In order to create a healthy and comfortable home environment, the air inside your home must be in good condition. Fresh, clean air benefits your health and makes your living spaces more inviting. Keeping the air you breathe free from contaminants is not easy, however. Even if you don't smoke, airborne irritants from chemical products or dirty HVAC equipment can foul the air. If these issues aren't addressed properly, your indoor air quality will decrease. To make sure the air in your house remans fresh and pure, contact a home health expert from Ocean Air Cooling & Heating.
A ductless mini-split system is a cost-effecitve way to cool your home if a conventional HVAC system seems too pricey to install or maintain. Ductless units are compact, so they take up less space than a conventional system. As the name suggests, this system doesn't need to be attached to your ductwork. Instead, it uses an outdoor and indoor unit to cool your home as part of an energy-efficient, zoned cooling approach. The zoned approach allows you to direct cool air to specific areas of your home while bypassing other locations, cutting your energy consumption along with your utility bill.
Although the heat pump is widely known as a heating system, it can act as an air conditioner as well. When the temperature outside rises, it will remove heat from your home and send it outside like a standard AC unit. Because of how it functions, a heat pump is one of the most versatile and energy-efficient cooling units on the market. A heat pump in cooling mode also removes excess moisture from the air. It provides a compact, energy-effieienct alternative to a standard AC unit for homeowners in Low Country, South Carolina.
In order for an air conditioner to stay functional, it needs to be maintained regularly. Even if you barely use this system during winter, it can still encounter issues. It's common to have your ductwork professionally repaired whenever it malfunctions. However, the time will come when replacing the entire system is a better option. Finding and installing the perfect replacement ducts can be challenging. Duct systems come in various shapes, sizes and materials so a homeowner can easily be overwhelmed.

Although humidity helps keep your home climate pleasant during winter, too much of it can be a serious problem. High levels of moisture also make it easier for mold, mildew, dust mites and other allergens to stick around. If these contaminants aren't eliminated, your health and the overall health of your home will be affected. It's in your best interest to control the level of humidity in your South Carolina home. There's no better way to do that than installing a dehumidifier from Ocean Air Cooling & Heating.
In order to meet the heating and cooling demands of your home, your ductwork must remain in mint condition. When this system is well-maintained, it distributes conditioned air more efficiently and is less likely to break down. Unfortunately, the duct system is one of the most overlooked parts of a home. Because it is installed behind walls and often located near the ceiling, many homeowners are unaware of the state of their ductwork. That can be a costly oversight. Once air ducts encounter a problem, locating and repairing the source of the damage can be a challenge.
Your air conditioning system plays a vital role in keeping your home cool and comfortable, especially on a hot summer day. Whether your South Carolina home is cooled by a heat pump, a ductless mini-split or a geothermal system, the goal is the same for every homeowner: keep your AC unit in peak condition throughout the dog days of summer and every day that follows. Unfortunately, wear-and-tear issues impact every HVAC unit. From low refrigerant levels to damaged components, every AC unit requires occasional maintenance to keep it functional.
Doing the laundry is an essential task in everyone's life, but the time commitment drops if you're using a quality clothes dryer. A dryer draws moisture from your garments by blowing hot air directly on the clothes. You can finish more loads in a day than if you let your clothes drip-dry on a hanger or a clothesline. In order for the dryer to function properly, howerver, it needs to be regularly maintained. That means keeping the dryer vent free of lint and other debris that can clog the flow of warm air to your unit.
I can't say enough about how knowledgeable our technician Shane is when we have any questions. He always takes time to explain what he does during our seasonal cleaning of ac unit. Ocean Air is professional and timely. I highly recommend this company!
I just want to say after being a retired HVAC-R mechanic, that I find Ocean Air to be a really top shelf company.
I own 2 rental condos and have Service contracts for both with Ocean Air. One unit had the A/C go out at 730 at night. Called Ocean Air and they were there by 9PM. Thats the kind of service I need for my Tenant.
The second unit had a maintainence call. Where the unit and freon levels were checked and adjusted. I had a call by Craig telling me that the blower motor and squirrel cage were badly filled with dirt and not moving the required air over the coil, thus reducing the efficiency of unit. He quoted me a price to take apart and clean the assembly, which I found the price more then reasonable knowing what is involved in such a project. Not many HVAC companies would bring that to my attention. They would let it die and charge me for a new assembly and motor. Kudos to Ocean Air. This Company gives me the peace of mind that I am looking for as a Landlord. I highly recommend them to anyone needing HVAC service.
As someone who needed a repair done to her AC system quickly, so that my house could close on time, ocean air was amazing!
They were quick responsive and fair in their pricing! They came out next day, and explained everything that was going on, what needed to be done, and then got to work quickly!
While I'm not in the area anymore, I would 10/10 recommend Ocean Air to anyone in the HHI area who needs service!
I have been using Ocean Air Heating and Cooling for about 8 years now. Curt is both knowledgeable and dependable. His staff does a great job and they are very responsive when you need them. They take care of 2 properties for me, and. They always remind me when it's time to service my equipment. Their pricing is also very reasonable. I highly recommend Ocean Air.
We have used Ocean Air for just over a year, for service issues and eventually replacing two units. Fairly-priced and they explained everything clearly. Their service/maintenance plan far outweighs what we would spend on annual expenses. Curtis and his team are professional, personable and patient with my two dogs. They always wear booties in the house and keep me up to date on the progress. Any team that can spend 6+ hours together in a spider-filled crawl space and come out smiling is my kinda team.
I called another vendor- that came in and told me that there were all kinds of issues- and even though my unit was still under warranty- and I just had to pay for labor- tried to charge me $1400. I called Ocean Air- they got the parts and came over. Turns out that more than half of what the other vendor said was wrong worked just fine. I just needed a new blower motor. Total cost out of pocket was under $250. Kurt and his staff are very honest and the customer service was very high!! Thanks Natasha you jumped through some hoops to help me! I highly recommend this company- and have already posted recommendations for him on my neighborhood website!!
