A ductless mini-split system is a combination of an indoor evaporator coil and an outdoor condenser unit connected by a refrigerant line set. Installation of mini-split systems does not require duct-work. Indoor units can be wall or ceiling mounted. Mini-split systems can be installed for single zone or multi-zone applications. Single zone systems consist of one indoor unit and one outdoor condenser and provide sufficient cooling for one room. Multi-zone systems can consist of up to four indoor units and one outdoor unit and are used to cool multiple rooms.

Although we can fix most air conditioners, there are times when an AC system is just too old or too far gone to repair. We know that replacing an old unit with a new one is a major expense, so we'll do everything we can to keep your existing system up and running. But if your air conditioner is nearing the end of its life, you might want to consider an AC installation now rather than wait until the inevitable breakdown happens. No one wants to deal with AC replacement. But did you know that a high-efficiency air conditioner or heat pump can actually deliver significant savings over time?

There are many types of furnaces in our area that use a variety of energy sources to operate. Gas furnaces use natural or propane gas, boilers and radiators use water, heated by electricity. And then there are electric furnaces, which may have an advantage over other energy sources based on energy costs and availability. Simply put, electric furnaces function through the use of electricity. They do not require the use of any type of fuel - but function through wires and chords. An electric furnace uses heating coils, sometimes referred to as "resistance calrods" to create heat directly in the air flow.

Heat pumps look and operate very much like air conditioners with the notable exception that they provide both heating and cooling. While heat pumps and air conditioners do require the use of some different components, they both operate on the same basic principles. Heat pumps and central air conditioners are "split systems, " which means that there is an outdoor unit and an indoor unit. The job of the heat pump or air conditioner is to transport heat either into or out of your home. The "vehicle" your system uses to carry the heat is called refrigerant.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, heating and cooling accounts for approximately 47 percent of the energy used in a typical U.S. home. The efficiency of your furnace can make a major difference in your energy bills- the more efficient your heating and cooling equipment the more you save monthly energy bills. If you are going to stay in your home for a few years upgrading from an old furnace to a new high-efficiency model can comfortably pay for itself. We can help you evaluate your current system and help you estimate the savings, but then we will let you figure out what to spend the savings on.
