Keystone Lawn Company, Inc. was established in 1990 and solely owned by Chris Neiles since 2007. Originally based in Lititz, Keystone has since relocated to Mount Joy as a result of customer demand. Keystone transitioned from primarily a mowing company to a full-service lawn, landscape, and property maintenance company to meet the needs of its customers. The company has grown successfully since 2004 due to excellence in customer service, final presentation, and the ability to adapt to the ever-changing industry demands.
We employ experienced design professionals who work to design a plan to meet the customer desires. Selecting plants to perform well with proper care is of high importance to us. Selecting the right plants for the location is crucial to a successful landscape. Landscape designs are drawn with future growth in mind. Designs are drawn in a modern computer aided landscape design program and tailored to the customer. We can draw a design for color, privacy, and 4 seasons of interest. Landscape foundation designs, landscape screening beds, raised planting beds and patio designs are just some of our common requests.
Keystone Lawn Company seeds new lawns, but we can also do seeding to help renew existing lawns. For new lawns and larger areas, we prefer to use hydro-seeding instead of straw to increase germination rates of the grass seed. Hydro-seeding is sprayed in a liquid form, and adds a layer of organic material to help the soil retain moisture while seed is in early growth stages. The hydro-mulch will break down into the soil as the new grass becomes established. The ideal season for growing new grass is in the Fall.
Proper fertilization and spraying are important aspects in your landscape and lawn. We recommend turf-grass fertilization treatments to add Nitrogen and other necessary nutrients to your soil. A lime treatment may also be needed to sweeten the soil to help the health of your lawn. With training and a degree in Turf-grass management from PSU, we can offer the necessary action needed to treat the weeds in your lawn. Additionally, weed control that we offer is not limited to your lawn. Our services also include pulling and spraying weeds with herbicide.

Keystone Lawn Company, Inc maintains large commercial properties, residential homeowner's associations as well as individual residences. Additionally, Keystone Lawn Company, Inc is one of the only mowing companies in Lancaster County to include propane mowers. It is more environmentally friendly and fuel efficient. We are equipped for bagging or mulching the grass clippings depending on the customer's preference and need of the lawn.
Stump-grinding is a service that we occasionally provide when it is in addition to some of our other landscape work. We can remove tree stumps by using a stump grinder to grind it into wood chips. We then remove the excess wood chips and level the area with soil if needed. It can then be replanted with grass seed or a tree or shrub.
Are your trees and shrubs getting overgrown? Do they have dead or diseased branches or limbs that need removed? We can trim to shape, to reduce size, and to promote health of the plantings in your landscape. When a landscape is too overgrown we can suggest what needs rejuvenation pruning or we can draw up a design for an updated modern look.
