Cascade Lighting began as a result of a request by a Director of Ohio Edison (a regional electric utility) for assistance in developing a sustainable landscape lighting program to be offered to their customers in 1996. The basis for this strategic partnership was the 15 years of prior experience in the manufacture of outdoor lighting products, significant interaction with UL and attendance of in-depth lighting seminars by the founding Principal of Cascade. With the development of a base of contractors, the program was launched.
