We had the pleasure and misfortune of working with SERVPRO of Hamilton County twice in 2017. In late January 2017 the oil furnace in our 100+ year old house experienced a puffback, sending smoke and soot throughout. Disaster - wallpaper, curtains, carpets, clothing, bedding, etc. etc. all ruined. I cried. :( We found a place to stay since the house in its sooty, smelly state was uninhabitable. Our insurance agent gave us contact info for SERVPRO. Our electronics were handled by another firm, as were the art and collectibles and clothing/linen/ fabrics. SERVPRO handled the rest. The contents crew packed out all of the stuff we didn't dumpster (we dumpstered things like drapes, mattresses, old chairs that weren't worth cleaning, you get the idea), and then the construction manager coordinated the cleaning and repair of the structure. Communication was open and responsive. But wait, there's more! About 3 months after our furnace blew up, we had a water line leak at the house we were staying in. Mold, yay! Called SERVPRO again. Much less damage, and they were great about working around us during that small crisis. In the case of our home repair/ renovation, it was a long, long ordeal - but we were the cause of the extended timeframe. We decided once the contents, wallpaper, crown molding, baseboards, and carpet were removed - well, why not update the water and electric? So we did that, using other contractors, which complicated the whole process a bit. Anyway, to make a long story not quite as long, the SERVPRO folks were awesome throughout. The guys working on the structure were a good group and were always pleasant when we were in and out of the house. Any issues that arose, and there were very few, were dealt with immediately and professionally, and our personal property was returned clean and in good condition. I also suspect that A LOT went on behind-the-scen es - like negotiating with the adjuster and other contractors - and I am thankful that we had to do so little hands-on during the process. I hope you never need their services! But if you do, call them.
