Operating as a small company, I never sell my clients unnecessary work. Having lower overhead than larger companies affords me the luxury of offering truly honest, practical advice about what your trees and shrubs actually need. From time to time I even tell clients that nothing needs to be done to their trees. Caring for your trees regularly is more cost effective than neglecting them and then dealing with subsequent damage. Studies published in the Journal of Arboriculture (ISA) have demonstrated that it is actually cheaper to regularly prune trees rather than neglecting them, which is why many cities have tree care crews or contract with tree companies to regularly prune and care for their trees.
