Do NOT oil or lubricate your door’s opener/motor.
Check the path of the door when it opens & ensure nothing is obstructing. Don't stack objects close to the door or any of its moving parts.
Lubricate hinges, rollers & springs regularly. Check your owner’s manual for recommended frequency and any specific recommended lubricants.
If your door runs on tracks, several times a year, dust the tracks to remove dust and dirt.
Oil door rollers, bearings and hinges monthly, using a silicone lubricant or light oil.
Your garage door may be original. You might be able to track the door's manufacturing date through a model # listed in the owner's manual.
