RMD Kwikform, UK leading formwork, falsework and ground shoring supplier, has provided support for a launch pit shaft excavation. This 10m deep excavation is required to facilitate the installation of a new replacement pipeline to be tunnelled under the Shropshire Union canal on the Peckforton to Coopers Green Resilience Scheme for Severn Trent Water. Part of the works involved installing the shaft launch pit base in preparation for future tunnelling works. Due to this, CPC Civils required a solution that would ensure maximum safety and efficiency on site, which is why they approached RMD Kwikform to supply its new ground shoring fleet.
RMD Kwikform, a global leader in formwork, falsework and ground shoring solutions, has launched Tetrashor, a lightweight modular propping system that can deliver a loading capacity of up to 400 kN. The system has been designed for the building refurbishment and civil engineering markets, finding applications in dead shoring, faade retention, propping and needling, supporting precast concrete bridge beams and structural steelwork frames, and restraining tall single and double-sided formwork. The system's 400 kN loading capacity means a minimum number of props are required, helping to reduce costs and assembly time for contractors.
To support the construction of G-TEM's new Gloucester-based manufacturing facility, RMD Kwikform has supplied contractor Interclass Construction Services and subcontractor John O'Sullivan structures (JOS) with a below and above-ground formwork and shoring solution. G-TEM is a renowned manufacturer of metal automotive pressings; one of the key elements of the project is the construction of two pits, each of which will house the presses for the creation of both Toyota and Honda car parts. As a leader in ground works and press pits, Interclass Construction Services, part of the Interclass Group, turned to RMD Kwikform to provide its new ground shoring products and formwork solution to support the excavation and concrete works within each pit.
One project we’re proud to have been involved in is the Talavera bridge in Spain. At 318 metres long, it is one of the longest cable-stayed bridges in Europe, and the tallest in Spain. Here are some fantastic photos of the #construction of #Hinkley Point C - specifically the Unit 1 Reactor Building. Our hydraulic, ultra-high duty propping system - Tubeshor - is supporting the project's largest pre-cast concrete module. Coming in at a huge 862 tonnes, the pre-cast concrete was.
We're supporting the construction of the new Kelani Bridge - just under 2km long and with six lanes, the steel bridge will run over the Kelani River in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The ISA Gate Flyover is one of Bahrain's largest pre-cast section flyovers. The complexities and challenges on this project were vast; due to the curvature of the structure each precast section was unique. The #construction of the flyover also had to be conducted over and next to live traffic.
