After having received a sketchy assessment from a technician representing different heating and air company, we called Charles McDuffee. According to the other company's technician (who talked too much and was condescending), we were looking at either a hefty repair bill, or replacing both our heater and air conditioner. The assessment had been that the blower wheel in the heater was in terrible shape and needed to be repaired ($400), and that there was probably a Freon leak ($??), and all the Freon had probably leaked out ($800 to refill). His recommendation (since our units were old) was to replace both the heater and the a/c ($7,000 - $8,000).
When the Charles McDuffee technician arrived, we were firstly impressed with his gentle way with our little dog. He was so nice and professional. After looking out our heater and a/c, he told us that both units were fine. The problem was not a leak in the lines, rather the filter on the heater was so full of lint from our dryer that it was clogging up the works. As a result the lines froze and water condensation was causing water to drip. The Freon was completely full. He recommended a few minor adjustments and some maintenance work. It only cost us a few hundred as opposed to $7,000 - $8,000.
In the end our Charles McDuffee technician was completely opposite of the first technician that came out - night and day different. For one thing we liked him. It is truly encouraging to find that the guy working on our units is honest and can be trusted!

Many companies can provide a product at a fair price and this is one of the best at that. But this review is 100% based on service and customer support. All questions have always been answered and all issues, which have been very minor, were resolved with the type of professionalism hardly seen these days. My trust has been earned. I would recommend all friends plus my mother, my grandmother, and my great grandmother without hesitation. Just a great company to deal with - very satisfied.

When we bought our house we immediately planned to change our heater and air conditioning unit. I shopped around and got a couple of quotes from Four Seasons, Charles McDuffee and another local vendor. We ended up choosing Charles McDuffee. Steve McDuffee came to our house to check what we currently and needs to be repaired and replaced. He actually suggested that we need to have a new humidifier since the existing one that we have looks like it will breakdown in the next couple of months.
The shopping for vendor/quote started right in the Spring of 2014 but we didn't get the furnace installed until September of that year. Steve didn't push us to do it immediately, he gave us a good price and financing options. Installation was great too, they were on time and cleaned up everything that they used both in the basement and outside. Steve on the other hand never got tired of going back and forth in our house for the paperworks, although email would work he said he likes interacting with the customers which is a big plus for us. This year we are having the first maintenance and when I called for schedule I asked about Steve they said he just pass away earlier this year. He was a good sales man and represents the company really well. I will highly recommend this company to anyone who will need their services.
