Alexa Harris-Ralff is a New Jersey-based interior designer and the founder of AHR Designs. A home should feel like the people who live there. Each project is an opportunity to create something new and beautiful- the possibilities are endless! The paint wasn't even dry on my client's beach house project when they approached me to tackle their next big move-a head to toe gut reno of a historic suburban colonial. My clients are superstars both with demanding jobs, 3 children, a dog and had no time to waste as the contractor needed to make some decisions immediately.

Alexa has been designing interiors professionally since 2010. Her love of color and layers of pattern is present in every project she touches. The details of flow, function, and durability are central to her designs. She gets to know her clients with a deep dive into how they really live. Where will you place a cup of coffee when seated in that cozy chair? Will anyone realistically tend to the wine stain on the marble if you're not home? Shoes on in the house? Dog allowed on the furniture? You get the picture.

There is nothing I like better than a beach house project. Truthfully I could design them all day long. Something about the sun, sand and all around laid back nature of a home at the beach that continually sparks joy for me. This project was my 2nd new build beach property at the Jersey shore. My clients wanted a family-friendly and high-end rental ready home. We opted for walnut full overlay cabinets in the kitchen with the prettiest quartzite slab ever on the island. I know you were expecting a white kitchen, weren't you?
