The other day I received a call from a customer who was concerned about water usage at their house. Well, actually, what they were concerned about was water usage from their house. To answer the question in detail, I posted a forum question: What is the cost of water usage by pest control companies? But on a more personal level, I would like to share with customers briefly that when water is tapped from a homeowner or business (and this is standard industry practice), that water cost (checked with water department rates) amounts to about a penny per service.
Safe Pest Control does not exist in California. You mean it exists in other states, but not California? No. But based on current regulation of the pest control industry, it is not permitted to use the term "safe pest control" or safe as it relates to pest control. If you see pest control companies here advertising "safe pest control, " it is not permitted. You can check the Structural Pest Control Board regulations for the specific wording. The pest control board had its' reasons, as it is perhaps too easy to falsely promote one form of pest control over another or to attribute qualities to a pesticide or treatment that is less than accurate.
For common home invading insects and arachnids like ants, spiders and earwigs, even outdoor roaches that come in sporadically, we are able to price over the phone. These situations we handle day in and day out. This type of work is predictable enough that we can price up-front. At Hearts Pest Management we view pest control very broadly, evaluating the interaction of people, pets and the environment. Our work is to harmonize human activities with the natural environment that surrounds you. Professional plumbing and electrical problems are usually priced at time of inspection, even though the problem is pretty static compared to pest control, where the interaction of people, pets and the environment are always changing.
