Lawn aeration is the process of mechanically removing soil plugs and small portions of thatch from the lawn. Lawn aeration relieves soil compaction and improves the ability of roots to grow deeper into the soil and expand. The mechanical removal of soil plugs is generally recognized as the best way to improve air and gas exchange, along with water and fertilizer intake. This is a must tool for anybody in the aerating or turf management business or the residential lawn enthusiast. Four Seasons Lawn Aeration and Perma-Green Lawn Care have merged together in order to serve our customers more effectively.

SOIL COMPACTION - Turfgrass in compacted soil (left) grows slowly, lacks vigor and becomes thin or does not grow at all. Core aeration (center) removes small cores of soil, depositing them on the surface of the turf. This improves the depth and extent of turfgrass rooting (right), and it can help save money on your water bill. Four Seasons Lawn Aeration INC. uses only exclusive golf course type machinery. The aerating machines we use to service golf course putting greens are the same machines we utilize on residential lawns. It is a walk behind reciprocating aerator, that has more precision than the drum driven roll-type aerator, found in rental yards and used by most of my competitors. My competition uses drum roller driven aerating machines. They will tell you there is no difference in the performance of our machines vs. theirs or worse yet that they use the same machine as we do.
If your lawn deteriorates to the extent that routine cultural practice, such as mowing, fertilizing and watering, do not give the desired response it is probably time to dethatch. By dethatching, it is possible to renew your lawn without going to the trouble and great expense of completely rebuilding it. What is Thatch? Excessive thatch build up is usually the biggest threat to a homeowner's lawn. Thatch is composed of intermingled layers of living and dead stems, leaves and roots between the green vegetation and the soil surface.
