Peterson Lawn provides lawncare services to residential and commercial properties in Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, Edina and the surrounding areas. We offer lawn mowing, fertilization, weed spraying, bush trimming and some landscape work. Like many of you, Peterson Lawn is looking forward to many outdoor projects in the Twin Cities this year. As we're picking plants and making plans, we're also keeping safety. I've been very pleased with the service from Petersons and have had a good crew and I want to thank you for doing such a good job!
For almost two decades, Peterson Lawn has provided lawn care services to residential and commercial properties in Minnetonka, Eden Prairie, Edina and the surrounding areas. We offer mowing, fertilization, weed spraying, bush trimming, gardening and some light landscape work. At Peterson Lawn, we understand the importance of having a yard with lush, green grass that is neatly trimmed. That is why we hire experienced lawn crews who love what they do, and are dedicated to making your yard look the way you want it to.
Our weekly mowing services typically begin the first week in May and typically conclude the second week in October. With our weekly program, customers can expect their lawns to be mowed and trimmed on the same day each week. Our mowing crews have the same routes each week so that they get to know the little details about your property and are able to cut your lawn the way you want it. For the best looking lawn all season long we recommend having your turf trimmed once per week. However, we realize that some lawns don't grow as quickly due to shade or no irrigation, and so we also offer bi-weekly mowing where your lawn is cut every other week.
Our irrigation start-up service includes charging the sprinkler lines, activating and programming the controller and installing a new backup battery if needed. A manual test-run and inspection of all sprinkler heads will be done to ensure they are in proper working order. This service is generally completed between the end of April and mid-May. Watering your lawn when it's raining is silly, right? Why spend money on water when Mother Nature is already doing the work for you? A rain sensor will automatically shut off your irrigation system when it rains, which is a great cost-saving tool for your home, and it is environmentally friendly, too!
Want a healthier lawn with stronger roots? For a lawn that is thicker and greener, we recommend combining our aeration service along with a fertilizer treatment or at the same time as re-seeding. Our lawn crews use a professional, commercial-grade aeration machine that drives over your lawn and removes plugs of soil to reduce soil compaction and promote root growth. Aeration is vital in restoring health to your turf.
Is your turf looking bogged down by a mat of dead grass? This dead layer is called "thatch" and it can actually choke your lawn. Some thatch can be beneficial to your lawn, but too much can prevent nutrients and water from getting to the roots of your lawn. Thatch, which lies on the turf like a giant mat of dead twigs, grass, stems and roots, weighs down your turf and makes it difficult for new grass to grow. Our power raking service will remove thatch from your lawn so that all you will see is lush, green grass instead of a giant blanket of dead stuff.
In early and late spring we apply a slow-release fertilizer to all turf areas to help your lawn green get going for the year. In early summer we apply premium fertilizer so you can enjoy the deep color and thick growth of healthy grass. Healthy grass is also more resistant to disease and drought. In the height of summer we apply a slow-release fertilizer to help the grass keep growing strong. And when the cool of fall arrives we have one last application of slow-release fertilizer to promote good root growth before winter.

Taking good care of your garden can be a lot of work. Gardens need continual maintenance in order to look their best, but that doesn't always leave much time for quiet enjoyment of your yard. If you're feeling overwhelmed by your garden this year, or maybe you just need a little help to get things started, our gardening team is happy to help! Whether you need a one-time cleanup or regularly scheduled maintenance, the gardeners at Peterson Lawn Services will work to keep your garden looking happy and healthy.
Our Fertilizer and Weed Control Program will knock out your weeds with a one-two punch! First, our weed spray will take out the weeds. Then our fertilizer feeds your grass so it can thick and strong, able to out-compete any new weeds that try to come up. In the early and late spring we apply a crabgrass pre-emergent that keeps that problem weed from growing from its seeds. In summer and fall we spot spray for crabgrass, sedges, and other summer weeds.
