Traditionally, trees in an urban environment need to be dismantled by climbing or using a lift. Branches and logs can be lowered safely to the ground to avoid damaging property, lawn, and landscape. If the customer is on a tight budget or looking for value, branches and logs can be cut and dropped causing minor lawn damage but speeding up the process and saving money.

Why specifying the work to be done is the most important part of the tree pruning process. Quercus bicolor, common name swamp white oak, is an oak species native to the Midwest and parts of the Northeast. This one is in a wooded backyard in Livonia, Michigan. Our pruning plan consisted of a full crown cleaning and the reduction of a large limb growing into a smaller oak. Crown cleaning means we removed all deadwood from the tree, along with any broken, weak, or crossing branches. Reduction means instead of removing the entire lower limb, we pruned the tips back to smaller lateral branches.

Our standard grinding depth is 6″, which is deep enough for laying sod or planting grass seed. If you want to replant a tree, pour concrete, or build over the area, we recommend grinding deep enough to get the entire stump out. Once the grinding is complete, we can leave the grindings for you to spread as mulch/compost or we can haul them away for an additional fee. Our stump grinder is state of the art.
