My name is Mike Whelan, I started Mike's Tree Service back in 2003 after working several years for another very successful tree and landscape maintenance company. From the beginning my business model has been simple, do good work at a fair price and show up to do it when we say we will. I know people are busy and budgets are tight these days, so this simple formula has been the backbone of our success. We now have over 3,000 satisfied customers which include not only residential, but we've branched into property management (condos and apartments) home owner association, municipal, and several commercial clients.
We invest in all the newest and safest machines and tools unlike many of our competitors. We use the newest wood chippers, stump grinders and aerial lifts. All of which is run by on board computers which help greatly reduce accidents due to operator fatigue. We're proud to say we haven't had a major personal injury or insurance claim in the entire 15 years we've been in business!
Throughout the years we've noticed a lot of do it yourselves remove their own trees, especially when they are on the smaller side. When this is done there is usually an unsightly tree stump left which is not only ugly, but has to be mowed around and in general is just unpleasant to look at. Stump removal doesn't have to be expensive. We send out just one man, with one stump grinder, instead of a whole crew full of trucks and men which are not needed. By doing this the cost to us and the customer is cut by over half.
We know how disrupting to your life storm damaged trees can be. Whether you have a precarious limb hanging up in a tree or your driveway is blocked by a blown over Bradford Pear tree, we're here to help. We put storm damage work first priority and do everything possible to come out the day of or the next day. Unlike many of our competitors we don't price gouge our customers in their time of need. If the work has to be done after hours in a emergency type situation, there will have to be a higher charge due to elevated labor costs.
Were happy to announce that we will be using these new tension slings to brace tree limbs instead of the old cabling technique . This new technology allows the tree to grow naturally unobstructed. They are installed without drilling into the limbs . Call to ask about securing your large trees to...
Proper pruning techniques along with proper placement in the yard are crucial in helping a tree to reach its full growth potential. We use directional pruning in young trees to guide their growth pattern.
The weather is just not cooperating with our attempt at a early start this year. More snow, more sub 0 temps this week! We will unlikely be able to complete all our jobs that are scheduled next week. Sometimes I just gotta roll with the weather and sit and wait . Job safety is always #1 on my priority.
