Gates and Associates is a landscape architecture firm based in the San Francisco Bay Area. We specialize in urban design, master planning, and place-making. We work for public agencies, private businesses both small and large, as well as developers; always with the goal of getting people outside. We credit our lasting success to our unique blend of strong design skills, sensitivity to the influence of environmental and cultural settings, understanding of construction realities, and dedication to consensus building.
We are a wildly adventurous group of landscape architects with a thirst for life and an unsettling desire for enhancing the world. We take a design idea and see it through to a built usable space that gets everyone outside. Our design starts with a seed and ignites into a place. We create outdoor spaces full of energy, life, living, gathering and sharing which call you to be outside. Here are a select few of our sample landscape architecture projects.
