Challenge Following the complete restoration and renovation of two storied residence halls was the redesign of the courtyard connecting them. Years of neglect resulted in a desolate and under performing outdoor space. Our team was essentially presented with a clean slate, ready to be transformed with new landscaping, dynamic lighting, and custom architectural features. Situated near the center of campus, community engagement was key. Design Solution The new courtyard integrates both buildings into a shared community space.
