Founded in 1983, Dills Architects is a studio of architects, planners, and designers working with a collaborative focus on civic and cultural projects. Our work seeks to elevate the nature of our shared institutions by imagining new and wonderful ways of living. A shared ethos of responsible stewardship drives our work, and our client service, to better reconcile the design and construction of our built environment with the evolving values of social and environmental equity.
In 1983 Dills Architects was founded with the simple goal of providing better client and community service through design and the things we make. This early emphasis on quality design, documents, and buildings led to the firm's reputation for technical ability and equally successful design projects. Today, Dills Architects applies this same design ethos and technical expertise across a broad range of Architecture, Landscapes, Interiors, Urban Planning, Material Research, Building Performance, Sustainability and Resiliency, and Graphic Design.
We work as collaborators in and out of the studio. Many of our projects are public, or with large user and client groups, and we have honed our skills in facilitating creative and productive design workshops and charrettes. Workshops in our studio operate the same way, with group design meetings across projects and disciplines often producing the most exciting and thoughtful ideas. Much like our cross disciplinary approach to project knowledge, we typically move seamlessly back and forth in analog and digital methods of design.
