We currently offer a rebate to members who add a new heat pump to their current heating system. Products designated VRF/VRV air source heat pumps do not qualify for the CPI rebate at this time. Available for replacing an existing heat pump, adding a heat pump to a system with gas backup or zonal heating, or new construction. The heat pump must have a minimum HSPF of 9, a SEER of 14, and be installed by a PTCS Certified contractor. The PTCS air source heat pump conversion measure provides an incentive for replacing an electric forced air furnace with a heat pump.
Consumers Power is now offering incentives for new construction or switching from an electric storage water heater to a new heat pump water heater. Heat pump water heaters use the energy efficiency technology of a heat pump to reduce the overall energy usage for your everyday hot water needs. Along with completing a post-installation checklist, please submit any invoices and/or purchase receipts (must contain model number of tank) for both the installation and purchase of the tank to be eligible for the rebate.
By choosing energy efficient window products, you can cut down your heating and cooling costs and make your home more comfortable at the same time. In a typical house, over 60% of the annual energy budget is consumed by heating and cooling. Proper selection of windows, doors and skylights can effect how much money we spend or save every year on keeping our homes bright and comfortable. Be sure and check out the Efficient Windows Collaborative Web Site for unbiased information on the benefits of energy-efficient windows, descriptions of how they work, and recommendations for their selection and use.
You could save 25% to 50% on your electric bill, depending on the characteristics of your home. Installation is quick, simple and inexpensive, which means little disruption to your home. Eligible homes include only those with permanently installed electric resistance heating as the main heating for the home, except in the case of new construction. To replace a non-functioning or existing ductless heat pump with a new ductless system it must have a minimum HSPF rating of 11 to qualify for the rebate.
CPI has worked with Rheem products for many years and is excited to offer another reliable product from them. The Rheem Professional Prestige is the most efficient water heater on the market and is available for sale in our Philomath office. These units can cut your water heating bill by up to 50%! Both the 50, 65 and 80 gallon units are available at CPI's Philomath office and members can purchase these units for $1,249, $1,549 or $1,849 respectively. We don't accept returns of opened boxes. A $600 cash rebate from CPI is available for all qualifying installations of this heat pump water heater.
The residential Marathon units will cost approximately 2 to 3 times more than a basic steel water heater. That is not a real comparison though, as you are comparing a lifetime warranty product against a 5 or 6 year warranty product. Installation for the Marathon is no more and sometimes less than for steel units. Commercial units such as the 75, 85 and 105 gallon models are attractively priced. Our manufacturing process is technologically advanced and very efficient so our incremental cost between our smaller tanks and our larger ones is much smaller than that of steel tanks.
Turn your thermostat down. Lowering your heating temperature is the most effective way to save energy. Each degree you lower your thermostat can reduce your heating energy consumption by as much as two percent. Turn heat off in unoccupied rooms. If you can adjust heat on a room-by-room basis, turn it down to 55 degrees in rooms you're not using. Turn your hot water heater down. Setting the water heating thermostats to 120 degrees reduces standby loss and lowers the risk of scalding. Turn off equipment and tools.
A surge occurs when the power line voltage goes higher than nominal and lasts longer than 10 milliseconds. There are three main forms of power interference: voltage dips, electromagnetic interference, and surges. Surges can occur on your electric, phone or even cable TV lines. Every piece of electrical equipment in your home is designed to operate at a specified nominal voltage such as 120 Volts AC. Most equipment is designed to handle minor variations in their standard nominal operating voltage; however, even the smallest power surges can be very damaging to nearly all equipment.
It is CPI's electric cooperative mission to provide safe, reliable and affordable power to its members. However, due to circumstances out of our control occasional power outages can occur. Backup generation systems can help provide peace of mind should such an outage occur. CPI is now able to offer our members a financing option when choosing to purchase a permanently installed backup generation system. CPI does not sell generator systems or arrange for any of the installation or electrical work.
Consumers Power offers free shower heads* to CPI members whose water is heated with an electric water heater. The shower head will deliver two gallons per minute of water. Simple to install, low-flow shower heads can reduce hot water consumption and water heating costs. A low-flow shower head is designed to deliver fewer gallons of water per minute but with the same pressure as a traditional shower head. We also offer up to a free and new kind of shower head from Evolve called a thermostatic shower valve.
