For more than 40 years, the Fischer family of companies has proudly served the greater Seattle community - starting with Fischer Plumbing in 1977, and adding restoration, electric, and heating and air divisions over the years. In addition to sharing a common name, all the business lines share the same Fischer commitment to providing an excellent customer experience each and every house call. Fischer Restoration started over a decade ago as a well-respected carpet cleaning service and has grown into a market leader in residential and commercial water damage mitigation.
Many times, our technicians get calls for Seattle water damage repairs that turn into mold remediation projects. Water may have been leaking for an extended period of time - anywhere from a couple of days to several years, in some cases. A small drip over time can cause substantial damage to a wall or an entire floor of a dwelling. If it's coming from a drain line, the water may contain materials that fuel mold growth. Mildew and mold grow and develop in areas with water problems and quickly spread to other areas of the home.
Emergency water damage is typically due to either a weather event or plumbing-related issue. This could be anything from a severe rainstorm that caused water to enter a dwelling, or a tub or shower overflowing, to a water heater, fish tank or water cooler leaking. In the Seattle area, high winds sometimes drive sea water over a sea wall into a rental property. It can also go hand in hand with fire damage. Often, overhead sprinklers come on as a result of the smoke and flames. When a water and/or fire damage emergency occurs, you want a repair and restoration professional at your house as soon as possible.
Prior to 1979, the vast majority of building materials contained asbestos. These hazardous materials are harmful to your health, particularly if you have respiratory conditions. If the asbestos fibers become lodged in the lungs, they cause lung damage. Asbestos abatement is both a health and structural concern, and is especially relevant for older homes. Our technicians assess if asbestos abatement is needed, taking and testing comprehensive samples. The law requires that we test and analyze key areas before we start removing them.
We can provide you with extra services if you need them in addition to your restoration work, including plumbing, general contracting, electrical, and air conditioning and heating.
Mitigation is the process of minimizing the extent of damage to the structure, and is a term you'll see when describing many of our services. When our trained technicians initially respond to your Seattle water damage emergency at your home or building, they'll assess the situation, speak with you to obtain all necessary information, and then outline a general game plan to restore your property. Appreciating the personal significance of your family heirlooms, photo albums, clothing and furnishings, they'll also determine how to minimize the amount of personal property items that might otherwise have been destroyed.
Thank you Fischer Restoration for coming out to get us back on the road to having our home repaired from a broken pipe. Corban, Brandon and Marco have been great. Thanks again
In all my years as a property manager I have never encountered a more adept and professional organization as Fischer Restoration. In many different scenarios involving the need for assessment, abatement, and restoration; the Fischer Team was remarkably responsive. The quality of oversight and full-circle service was always impressive to include the service technicians on the job, administration and accounting follow up. All this should be expected... but Fischer exceeds all expectations.
