It all started in 1953 in Grand Prairie, Texas. In those days, we were known as Western Cabinets, a regional supplier of stock cabinetry. Eventually, Western Cabinets was purchased by our own Stanley Tidwell and expanded to a national market. One name change later, Woodmont Cabinetry was born. Today we are proud of both our humble beginnings and our lasting reputation for excellence. No matter the year and no matter our name, our company always maintains two core beliefs: treat people right and offer a quality product at a good value.
The American hardwoods we select from managed forests set the tone and appearance of our cabinetry. But there's something else that makes our cabinetry unique. At Woodmont Cabinetry, you'll find integrity ingrained in everything we do. A family-owned, faith-based company, our employees are the heart of our operation. They don't just build quality products, they also build honest working relationships with our customers. Yes, our products come with a warranty. But, they also come with our promise to keep manufacturing jobs in America, to minister to our community, and to safeguard our environment.
At Woodmont Cabinetry, respect is one of our core values-respect for our customers, for our workers, for the products we create, and for the earth itself. We've made sustainability a priority in everything we do because we believe in being forward-thinking and earth-friendly. Below are a few of the ways we implement sustainability standards, from how we harvest wood to how we take recycling to the next level. Our all-natural materials are sourced right here in the United States, and our lumber suppliers are committed to maintaining healthy forests.
There's an old saying: "To do great work, you must love what you do". At Woodmont Cabinetry, we're happy to say that our more than 350 employees put a lot of love into their work, and it shows in our fine craftsmanship and company-wide principles. As you might expect, we don't just love the work that we do-we love the people we work with, too. Here is a glimpse of our company's culture, from how we put the "family" in family business to how we honor our employees and their families. Our business is family-owned and family-focused.
An important part of our craftsmanship, The Woodmont Collection finishes range from stains and solid color paints to accent glazes. Each highlights our cabinets in different ways, offering you myriad style options. Here, we explain some of the finer details of our finishes. After selecting premium hardwood, we get serious about sanding using a combination of top-quality machines and hand-sanding. Then comes the finish line: stain, sealer, topcoat, and glaze. Stains enhance the natural beauty of each type of wood, including characteristics like wood grain, knots, and mineral streaks.
