Doug Rees administered the U.S. Green Building Council's program for Washington's very first Gold-certified "LEED" Building, Island Wood (formerly Puget Sound Environmental Learning Center). He then reached Green Certification with the Built Green program by applying those same standards to this local remodel. Our passion is building high-quality projects on budget. Doug Rees' master's degree in construction management and 30-year career in residential construction makes him uniquely qualified to do just that.
Interior renovations are our specialty! We've done many old-world charm restorations, interior remodels, plus tenant improvements for commercial properties and churches. Please also see our Featured Project - a stunning Seward Park interior renovation that has been featured in two publications! I was the project manager for this renovation. We'd love to help with your next building, renovating or remodeling project. We work in all Seattle neighborhoods, the Eastside, and the Northend (most of King and Snohomish Counties).
Proven Track Record- First established in 1990, DLRC has over 25 years experience working with owners, architects, and other contractors on quality homes in the Seattle/Eastside area. What makes us different? Our decades of experience in custom building has given us insights on better ways to build, allowing us to deliver great quality at fair prices. From the start, we help develop a budget and schedule to suit your needs. We know that most homeowners don't have unlimited funds. We are here to help you (and your architect if possible) understand the cost of various options, and find ways to get what's important to you.
We've built and worked on many new homes. One of our strengths is the ability to collaborate with clients and architects to achieve the best possible outcome, namely, the home they desire at a price they can afford. We are also well-versed in green building and sustainable solutions, so your home will have a reduced impact on the environment (and your wallet - when you pay the utility bills every month.) We can be involved as much or as little as you like, managing the entire process, or even integrating "volunteer skilled labor" (perhaps you?) to help keep costs manageable.
