Sealcoat is a liquid that is poured to the asphalt to protect the asphalt from oxidizing, as well as protecting it from damage caused by winter cracking, UV rays, and traffic. Since oil and gasoline will react with the asphalt, the sealcoat acts as a "barrier" to keep the two separated. By using sealcoats, your asphalt will not only be protected, but it will make it look fresh and brand new. Sealcoating also protects pavement from drying out and becoming rough. Sealcoat can expand the life of asphalt up to 30 years, with having a few maintenance sealcoats added periodically.
