Hennepin Made is an independent glassblowing studio specializing in modern lighting for commercial and residential environments. Our goal is to deliver unsurpassed quality, connect our clients to the craft, and inspire through innovative design. Each of our hand blown glass lighting products features stunning tones, bold forms, and an intriguing mix of materials and finishes. We are energized by seeing our pieces illuminate new spaces, offering an elegant lighting solution that fuses modern design sensibilities with the age-old art of glassblowing.
What's handmade is human. Creating connections through design and craft is the energizing undercurrent that unites all we do. Hennepin Made co-founders Jackson Schwartz and Joe Limpert launched their business in 2011, driven by a desire to build something sustainable and transformative for their field. Skilled artists and glassblowers, the duo saw an opportunity to connect their passion for glass with lighting design - and quickly made a national name for themselves. In 2016, still growing rapidly, the crew purchased, renovated, and moved operations into a 30,000-square-foot former industrial warehouse in Minneapolis' rising North Loop.
Art-driven and sculptural, the Foliole Pendant with its flattened sides is reminiscent of a leaf. This fixture uses texture to grab the light and return a bit of sparkle. See how @StudioGreyDesi gn uses a trio of pendants in their office design. . .#hennepinmade#handmadelights
The collection that put Hennepin Made on the map. Showstopper and crowd favorite, Parallel pendants draw upon the union of glass and metal to create contrasting parallel bands. Each shape is timelessly classic; a nod to the past with an eye towards the future. . . .#hennepinmade#handmadelights
Jackson and Joe rented studio space from a local non-profit and started out making one of a kind pieces and commissions. They knew they needed their own a studio to develop strong designs and production capacity. . . .#HennepinMade#handmadelights
