J.H. Berra Paving Company, Inc. is dedicated to providing our customers with concrete streets that conform to the many municipal standards in which we work, in a timely and cost efficient manner. In the spring of 1993, the organization saw a need in the St. Louis area for a high quality concrete paving company. After hiring the best available workforce and investing in state of the art equipment, J.H. Berra Paving Company was ready for business. From that first year to today, the paving company has poured nearly 500 miles of residential, commercial, and industrial streets.
Engineering and surveying is a key discipline in land transformation. Our acquisition of Sterling Engineering & Surveying Co. in 1994 was an integral part of our ability to offer turnkey solutions for a variety of different types of projects. Sterling is the premier Residential Planning, Civil Engineering and Land Surveying firm in St. Louis and surrounding counties employing over 80 people, licensed in Missouri and Illinois. Serving private developers and public agencies since 1946, Sterling's exceptional team of planners, engineers, designers, surveyors, technicians, and administrators has earned the company a solid reputation for reliability, accuracy, and timely performance.
Every development project is built on the solid foundation of infrastructure. In 1981 we imported a new technology from the Netherlands using only top-of-the-line equipment, and a dry cast method to create concrete pipe of the highest quality, most consistent dimension and greatest strength to establish BeCo Concrete Products, Inc. We quickly dominated the local market. In September of 1986, we purchased an additional plant located in Fulton, MO., extending our reach west to supply the central Missouri market.
