White Construction is a leading infrastructure construction contractor specializing in the renewable energy, industrial/power and heavy civil sectors. Over the course of our seven-decade history, we've tackled heavy civil projects big and small, constantly refining our expertise as the market shifts and customers' needs evolve. To date, we've built more than 9,200 MW of wind and solar energy and continue to find new and innovative ways to leverage our deep heavy civil experience to support our customers.
White Construction began as a small family-owned trucking and excavating company in the 1940s. Since our founding, the organization has grown tremendously, become a part of IEA and even reached publicly-traded status-yet the values that the White family instilled in the company remain core to our culture today. White Construction is a subsidiary of Infrastructure and Energy Alternatives, Inc. (IEA), a Nasdaq-traded infrastructure construction company with specialized energy and heavy civil expertise.
As existing transportation infrastructure continues to age, city, state and federal governments are in constant need of reliable construction partners with specialized expertise in heavy civil construction. White Construction is an industry leader in heavy civil work, with more than 70 years of experience successfully building major infrastructure projects across the Midwest. Our multidisciplinary team brings unparalleled qualifications and experience to constructing transportation and water resource projects including highways, bridges and water treatment plants.
Solar power generation is an increasingly important source of renewable energy, and it's getting more affordable, too. As a self-performing EPC and balance-of-system (BOS) contractor, White Construction helps our customers capitalize on this growing sector, spearheading utility-scale solar projects from coast to coast. Our solar technology expertise includes traditional photovoltaic (PV), concentrator photovoltaic (CPV) and high-concentration photovoltaic (HCPV). We offer a complete range of installation services to fit a wide variety of location and terrain complexities, including fixed-mount (ground- and roof-mounted) and tilt-mount with single and dual-axis tracking systems.
Having entered the wind market in 2004, just as it was beginning to take off in the US, we were able to learn the ropes in tandem with utility companies and renewable energy developers-and begin building a portfolio of successful wind energy projects well before our competition. To date, we've installed more than 4,200 wind turbines across the country, resulting in the creation of thousands of megawatts of renewable energy. We've built strong partnerships with leading labor unions across the country to fuel our constant and growing need for qualified craft workers.
