A big trend is white cabinets with dark brown accents on the island, flooring, or stove hood. We've also been doing a lot of colored islands. Blue seems to be a popular accent color that people are using in their kitchens.
Dining rooms are slowly fading out. Most people are using the kitchen as their dining table. Families are also using the space, that typically was a dining room, for home offices or playrooms. We still have a lot of people that build and include dining rooms. We try to make this room special by adding ceiling customizations, unique floor designs, built-in shelves or cabinetry, and other ways to make it stand out.
Living rooms are usually the centerpiece of the home. Most of the time it is right off of the entry way so one of the first things people see when they walk in. We like to add features in this room that really make it stand out. Brick or stone fireplaces that go all the way up to the ceiling is really popular right now. Many houses have included this lately. We also do a lot of built-in shelving and cabinets. Windows, flooring, lighting, and other personal choices can also add to the rooms esthetic.

We love our newly built home! We worked with Rick to design our home and he and his team turned that design into reality. My positive feelings about our home increased today when we got our gas bill which covered heating our home during the polar vortex. Not only do we love the home, but the bill was further evidence of it being a high quality build, as we have clear evidence that our home is incredibly energy efficient. Thanks, Rick!

Choosing Rick to build our custom home was one of the best decisions we've ever made. My husband and I decided to build a custom home when we were newlyweds, and we had no idea how to begin the process. It was overwhelming and we were very anxious about it. We met with Rick, who immediately put us at ease. Rick has been so great to work with and has made this process easy for us. The homes that he builds are BEAUTIFUL with excellent craftsmanship and top quality. Not only is he an excellent and skilled builder, but he's also just a super cool guy to talk with. We're very blessed to have found him. Would DEFINITELY recommend!
