During the Design/Build process, Wurster Construction gives the client asingle-sourceof responsibility for both the design and the construction of your project. This maximizes schedule and cost efficiency. Along with input from you, Wurster Construction selects an architect, engineer, and other design professionals needed to program and design your new facility. In addition, we select and manage all the subcontracts, equipment, and material suppliers through the construction phase of the project.

Pre-Construction services are an integral part of the Construction Management process. Our estimating and project management experts will work with you, providing input on issues such as feasibility, constructability, and conceptual project cost estimates. In short, we will answer the question: can we build what you want for the budget you have? And if not, what alternatives are there?

General Contractor selection usually takes place after construction drawings are completed and all aspects of the project are ready to go to the bidding phase. When selecting a general contractor, two options are available as it relates to contract method - negotiated contract or a lump sum contract. Under a negotiated contract, we can tap our database of pre-qualified subcontractors to provide trade services on the project.

Outside of Construction Management / General Contracting services, Wurster completes nearly 400 to 600 general maintenance projects each year for our clients within facilities that must meet specific accreditation requirements. As part of our general maintenance services, Wurster follows a protocol to ensure that budgetary costs are minimized. Prior to any work being performed we provide clients a proposal of services that requires an authorization to proceed. Once work is completed, we document our time and materials on field labor tickets and submit for approval.

As a Construction Manager, Wurster integrates the pre-construction (programming, planning, design) and construction phases into a seamless process. We work with your architect in the early stages of the design phase to ensure that your project stays within budget even before construction begins. Then, by competitively bidding each division of work to pre-qualified subcontractors, we secure and manage the highest quality subs at the most competitive cost. This strategy increases value on the project by delivering the most cost effective results while maintaining the highest quality standards.
