L C Whitford

The L.C. Whitford Co., Inc. is a family-owned-and-operated general contractor that has been in business for over 100 years. Based in Wellsville, NY, we operate primarily throughout New York State and Pennsylvania with a second division in Atlanta, GA, which serves the southeastern states. Our specialties include bridge work for both roads and railroads along with our newest endeavor of waterproofing and containment. This new work has taken us into all states east of the Mississippi River. In addition to construction, The L.C. Whitford Co., Inc. has two affiliated companies that serve to supply materials and equipment to other companies while supporting and streamlining our own projects.

LCW has built many landmarks of Western New York, from bridges and highways to libraries and hospitals, and is known as one of the area's most respected and innovative builders. Most of our roadway and bridge projects are "fast track", meaning that the operations must be completed in a very short duration in order to minimize traffic flow disruption. Many of our projects involve major steel repairs and / or span replacements. LCW has worked on these steel, precast and wooden structures for several Class 1 railroads and short lines.

Founded in 1998, the L.C. Whitford Equipment Company deals in the sale and rental of wood grinding, tree chipping, and forestry equipment. The Company, headquartered in Wellsville, NY, began buying and selling construction equipment and has since changed to focus primarily on forestry and wood processing equipment. We now specialize in the sale of new Morbark tub grinders and horizontal grinders, as well as whole tree chipping equipment. We also are a dealer for new TimberPro forestry equipment, selling their tracked and wheeled feller bunchers and log forwarders.
