Max Kimmig is from the Black Forest region of Germany. He grew up around the family owned sawmill and carpentry business. As a teenager, he was trained in the construction of homes around the Black Forest. He attended college in Karlsruhe, Germany where he earned his MBA in Electronics. Working for Siemens and later for IBM, as a Computer Designer and Salesman, he travelled all over Germany, Europe and America. His education in electronics and hobby of architecture provided the perfect knowledge base to build "green" (energy efficient) and "smart" (electronic controlled) homes.
