Lester Buildings is a leading manufacturer and builder of custom pre-engineered, post-frame building systems for farm, livestock, equine, hobby, and commercial purposes. Doors are a critical part of solidifying Lester's Lifetime Structural Design Warranty. So much so, that we design and manufacture our own sliding steel doors (the only wind-rated ones on the market) to building loads. Why all the fuss? If a Lester building is built to code, and it fails because of a non-wind-rated door, the failure is not covered in our warranty. Lester only partners with carefully selected national suppliers of high quality building accessories. We trust our suppliers to provide product consistency, excellent customer service, and superior project management (delivery and installation).
Lester Buildings post-frame construction is very versatile and is ideal for building incredibly beautiful homes. In addition to the traditional home design, some people have large shops with a smaller living space connected to it. Live, work and play in one building! Lester never takes lumber selection lightly. Our engineers use a sophisticated lumber grading system to decide what wood species, grade and strength best suits each column, girt and purlin. We know what we're buying, because we only use stamped lumber. You'll see your lumber grade on your final contract. Treated lumber delivers excellent protection against wood rot caused by insects, fungus and other wood-attacking microbes. It's also compatible with standard hardware and steel cladding, with minimal environmental impact.

A strong building begins with a strong foundation. The weight of the typical post-frame building is often not sufficient to resist uplift forces caused by lateral loads or wind. Lester Buildings are anchored to either the foundation or directly to the soil to provide the required uplift capacity. Factory-made precast concrete footings are set in the ground on top of tamped soil to provide a barrier against soil moisture and settling. The 17-inch wide x 4-inch high footing helps to displace the building load traveling through the column.
