Founded, owned, and operated by John Ahern since 1995, Ahern Painting's respect for its customers' properties is simply unparalleled. Each job begins long before a drop of paint leaves the can: Honest bidding, extensive planning and preparation, a full-time team of long-tenured craftsmen, and the finest materials ensure that each job is completed to the total satisfaction of the client - the first time around, every time. Our intention is to be your painter for life. Our customers are our neighbors and we treat them with the consideration and attention they expect.
Watch cabinet trends from decade's-past transformed by our craftsmen. Ahern Painting utilizes a precisely measured two-part conversion varnish applied in our state-of-the-art shop.
Protecting your home's flooring and furnishings is the key to our work and usually the most time consuming. In many instances, the most effective solution to poorly painted trim is complete paint removal, which we do using non-toxic materials. Where mechanical or hand sanding is sufficient, we will ensure the containment of dust and debris to the work areas using dust barriers and Zipwalls. Whether your painting project involves new construction or historic restoration, we welcome the opportunity to meet with you.
A properly restored home is only complete when the woodwork is returned to its natural luster and color. Multiple coats of varnish and shellac over the years can lead to alligatored finishes and nearly opaque coloration. At AHERN PAINTING, we distinguish ourselves from other companies by attending to this vital aspect of your living space. Replacing durable, old-growth wood with new plantation-grown and engineered materials is a poor substitute. You do not add to the value of your home by placing cheap products over valuable, albeit worn material.
Your basement is really the foundation of your home. If your basement's block walls are bare or unable to withstand moisture consider a waterproof coating. Eliminating moisture will help you control mold, remove musty odors, and will help you to preserve your home. Ask us how you can protect your family as well as your investment with an Elastomeric coating.
If you are fortunate enough to live in an older home, you want to protect its unique charm and character. We take particular pleasure in restoring historic properties. Historic restoration is one of our specialties, and we've worked on countless historic homes across the area. Ahern Painting is the region's premier historical restoration contractor, and it shows in our work. Check out some of our stunning work from historic homes across the area. Your beautifully painted walls deserve to be highlighted by brilliant woodwork and furnishings.
A beautiful finish is the result of experienced problem solving and skillful surface preparation. Whether you have a small house painting job, a complex historical home restoration project, or a large commercial project, we have the skills and expertise to revive the beauty and function of your property. We invite you to bring us your most challenging interior or exterior problems.
Do you have exterior stucco in need of repair? Fixing stucco is time consuming and it can be difficult to generate original looking results. Our craftsmen are both efficient and skilled in color and texture matching. AHERN PAINTING can patch and match most stucco exterior applications caused by settlement or storm damages.
AHERN PAINTING uses chlorine-free bleach for mildew and mold applications for our power washing services. Mold's hypae (root structures) actually grow into wood and drywall like roots. The hyphae are not killed by bleach because bleach's ion structure prevents chlorine from penetrating into porous materials such as drywall and wood. It stays on the outside surface, whereas mold has protected enzyme roots growing inside the porous construction materials. When you spray porous surface molds with bleach, the water part of the solution soaks into the wood while the bleach chemical sits atop the surface, gasses off, and thus only partially kills the surface layer of mold while the water penetration of the building materials foster further mildew and mold growth.
