Whether you purchased your carpet from Pelletier Rug or somewhere else, you may want an extra piece finished into an area rug. We offer several options including carpet binding, carpet serging, or rug fringe. Standard rug binding is a cloth binding tape that is sewn on the edge of a carpet to keep it from fraying. Polyester binding is the most durable and fade resistant. It also offers the most colors. Cotton binding is available for a small upcharge. Cotton has a nice look, but is not recommended for high traffic areas, sunny areas, or areas subject to occasional moisture.
You should get your carpet from Pelletier Rug and Floor, the company that knows wool carpeting. We have an extensive selection of wool carpet from many quality wool mills. In addition, we have one of the finest selections of wool carpet remnants ANYWHERE! It is not uncommon to find a large wool carpet that normally sells for $3,000 for only $600! Wool is opaque, unlike synthetic fibers which are translucent. Synthetic fibers accept dye, but their translucent nature makes them like fishing line: You can see through the fiber.
Those are the main concerns. You will also have other concerns, such as how quickly can you get the carpet, will you need to close for the carpet installation, can the carpet be done in stages to minimize the impact on your business, etc. These logistics can best be coordinated with your carpet store. The following can get technical, but is well worth it if you want to get the most from your carpet investment. Carpet is rarely the source of fire. However, it can be involved once a fully involved fire has started in an area.

Vinyl flooring has almost completely replaced linoleum flooring as the flooring of choice for areas that get wet or have occasional spills. They are easy to mop clean. There is so much available in vinyl flooring, and the detail and realism is so much more realistic than years ago. Patterns include tile, stone, and wood. Sheet vinyl comes on a roll like carpet. We cut off enough vinyl to do your room, and most rooms are done in one piece. Sheet vinyl has fewer seams, so liquid spills are less likely to soak through cracks into the sub-floor.
Linoleum has been a commercially manufactured floor covering since 1864. Linoleum is a resilient floor made from natural, renewable resources like solidified linseed oil, pine rosin, wood flour, limestone, jute (backing material), and pigments for color. If you want an environmentally conscientious floor that is capable of lasting for decades (with proper care), real linoleum flooring is a great choice. It is especially popular in kitchens and bathrooms but is suitable for main living areas and commercial spaces as well.
The "Orient" is a term traditionally used in Europe to describe anything east of Europe, and especially the "far east" such as China, Japan, and other Southeast Asian countries. Oriental rugs were traditionally hand-knotted rugs that were made in countries East of Europe. Naturally, like any phrase, the term "oriental rug" has evolved. Today, we also refer to hand-knotted rugs originating from areas other than the Orient (i.e., North Africa) as oriental rugs. A true oriental rug will be hand-made from natural fibers.
