We manufacture all our own stair parts and custom millwork right here in our Rochester, NH shop. That way you know every piece we custom manufacture for your home will match the flooring you've picked out! We have over 350,000 SF of flooring in stock with a wide range of options in both prefinished and unfinished hardwood. If you're looking for something more unique, we can have almost anything else here within a few weeks! In addition to milled flooring we also keep plenty of raw lumber in our warehouses.

Higgins Wood Floors is a 40-year-old family owned and operated business. The company started with just Bob Higgins and a truck, and is now one of the largest wood flooring distributors in New England. Operated by Bob's sons Jason and Ryan, Higgins provides northern New England with a wide variety of materials and services for homeowners, flooring professionals, builders, and contractors. We are dedicated to providing our customers with top quality products, service, and value. We look for the best combination of quality and price, and by purchasing directly from flooring mills and suppliers we pass extra savings onto our customers.

Laminate is often your most cost-effective flooring option, and these days we can offer a wide range of style options to choose from. Laminate is a great low-budget option, or when you're looking for an easy install and worry-free floor. It's important to remember that hardwood isn't appropriate for every project, and laminate is a great way to get the look of hardwood for substantially less cost. And with an easy locking mechanism it's a popular choice for DIY projects. It is important to know that laminate is still susceptible to water damage, so spills and leaks should be cleaned as quickly as with hardwood.

Engineered wood flooring is a great option for homeowners, especially those of us living in climates like New England. Solid wood floors are very susceptible to changes in moisture - in climates where we have very dry winters and very humid summers, wood expands and contracts throughout the year. In addition to flooring, Higgins stocks a wide range of domestic and imported lumber options including Red and White Oak, Maple, Birch, Beech, Hickory, Ash, Cherry, Mahogany, and more. We also stock some softwoods like Douglas Fir and Southern Heart Pine. We stock both 4/4 and 5/4 rough lumber, and a good selection of finished boards as well. And since we custom manufacture our own stair treads, we always have lumber on hand in the same species and grades as our flooring options. We buy a good product to begin with, but because we also work out of the same material to produce stair treads and other millwork, we are able to utilize a lot of the material you have to sort through at other yards.

With over 350,000 SF of flooring in stock, along with raw lumber and supplies, we're your one-stop shop for flooring projects! We offer installation services, but you can also buy materials from us and have a contractor install the floor (or you can tackle it yourself) - and we offer convenient job site delivery. Our specialty is unfinished and prefinished hardwood, but we also feature select lines of laminate, luxury vinyl and cork options. Any item we don't stock here in our warehouses we can order, so we can always get you the perfect floor to match your interior design.

Vinyl flooring can be a great alternative to hardwood, and some homeowners even prefer it - Higgins carries a line of luxury vinyl tile that imitates wood flooring, offering you the look of a high-end wood floor, for a much lower cost, and with several benefits. They boast great practicality like waterproof surfaces, softer materials that are gentler on joints, the ability to install over almost any surface (including existing flooring), and a much faster and easier install suitable for DIYers. The majority of our vinyl options sell for the same cost as the low-range hardwood floors, but look like the very high-end ones.
