Jim Hons, the owner and founder of The Fencebuilders of Marin and Sonoma County, taught Junior High School for 15 years and then spent 10 years in the retail building materials business with Diamond Lumber and Henris Supply of Petaluma. Security is a major concern in today's world and we have worked with Friedman's Home Improvement in Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Sonoma and Ukiah to help them design and implement security solutions for their retail locations. When Dominican University of California partnered with the Department of Agriculture to help find a cure for the Sudden Oak Death plague that attacked the trees of the San Francisco Bay Area The Fencebuilders helped design and build chain link fence enclosures that doubled as shade structures for the research sites.

As the name suggests, the fence consists of 6 strands of barbed wire stretched taught between h-braces and supported in between with steel tee posts spaced approximately 10' apart.
