General Timber utilizes more than four decades of experience to assist customers in turning their dreams into a reality. Our family oriented and hands-on work ethic has given us the opportunity to provide high quality horse fencing. This is enhanced with our ability to maintain a wood-preserving stance by replanting trees and educating our industry. As leaders in the horse fencing and animal control arena, we design and install an array of horse fence styles from board fences to rail fences. Headquartered in North Carolina, our 20-acre site is populated with a hardworking and professional staff.

In Clement Williams' world of treating wood for high-quality fencing for the equine and agriculture interests, if the process isn't broken, there is no sense in fixing it. His company, General Timber, which he co-owns with his brother, Art, has been producing agricultural fencing since the early 1970's. Located on 31 acres in Sanford, North Carolina, General Timber was first started in the late 1970's by Joe Dowdy. Clement delivered wood to Dowdy for years while working for his dad, Arthur Williams, who owned and operated a sawmill located in Moore County dating back to the 1940's.

Pressure treatment meeting or exceeding AWAPA specifications forces creosote deep into the wood for maximum durability.
