Animal Control is a division of the Plainville Police Department. Municipal Animal Control Officers enforce all State Laws and Town Ordinances related to domestic pets which may include roaming dogs, impoundment of strays, animal bite investigations, barking nuisance, rabies control and animal cruelty. It is our goal to educate the public, find loving homes for the animals that are impounded, and maintain a clean and healthy environment at the dog pound. The State of Connecticut Department of Energy & Environmental Protection Wildlife Division is charged with the handling of situations/complaints involving wildlife or non-domestic animals.
