You will have to look long and hard to find a company like TDI. Previously known as Turf Doctor, Kevin Bryant set out on an adventure in 1994 to start a company that did what no one else would. His approach was simple. Design lawn programs to manage the microorganism component of the soil in order to promote and sustain the health and well-being of the turf and ornamentals that are grown in that soil. He placed such a great importance on microbiology because without an understanding of this science, no sustainable management strategy could truly be formulated.
TDI's Annual Cool Season Turf Program is founded on our biological philosophy of creating a hospitable soil environment in which turf will thrive. Fescue turf presents a challenge due to the fact that it is a cool season grass that tends to suffer in the hot and dry summer season. Northern Alabama lies in the transition zone in which fescue turf normally looks and grows best from September through June. We highly recommend aeration and overseeding of all fescue lawns each year to maintain the health and appearance of the lawn and help the turf rebound from the effects of summer heat and drought.
TDI utilizes Integrated Pest Management, or IPM, practices as an effective and pro-active approach to controlling pests around your home. We rid your home of cockroaches, ants, spiders and other intruders by inspecting and treating the perimeter of your home to help prevent new home invasions. TDI abides by the same biological approach utilized in our lawn and ornamental care programs, and our selection of products and methods reflects this philosophy. Green pesticide technology has made great strides in the development of environmentally-friendly pesticides that achieve the same quality of insect control while replacing the environmental impact of conventional insecticides.
TDI's Annual Warm Season Turf Program treats Bermuda, Zoysia, St. Augustine and Centipede grass with our biological approach to promote and maintain the overall health, nutrition and appearance of your lawn. This program has been specifically formulated to maximize the potential of your warm season turf while providing excellent biological benefits to the soil on which it is grown. Our Warm Season Turf Annual Program includes applications of biological fertilizer, liquid pre-emergent and soil amendments at the proper time and interval.
TDI evaluates each customer's needs individually to determine the proper course of treatment for your lawn or landscape. Our twenty years of experience have led us to develop an array of annual services that not only serve to beautify lawns and correct problems, but also to prevent the development of future problems and provide ongoing satisfaction for our customers.
TDI is certified by BASF as a Termidor HP Certified Professional, which means that customers can be confident that our licensed pest management professionals possess the knowledge and experience to treat your property in a skilled and professional manner. TDI termite treatments consist of an application using our Termidor High Precision Injection System, the most reliable termiticide paired with the most efficient and accurate delivery system available. No other termite control system of any type has ever achieved such a high level of effectiveness.
What is Core Aeration? It is the process of making thousands of small holes in the turf. Soil microbes, like all living things, need air, food and water in order to function. These holes allow fertilizer, water and air to reach the root zone quicker, resulting in new growth and increased root development. Opening up the soil helps reduce thatch build up and soil compaction allowing your lawn to breathe which reduces disease and insect pests. All grass types (Bermuda, Zoysia, Centipede, St. Augustine and Fescue) benefit from this most important cultural practice for improving and maintaining the health of turn.
Ornamental tree and shrub landscapes are a substantial investment for a homeowner, and our program will help protect and grow that investment with each passing year. TDI's Tree and Shrub Annual Program follows the same biological guidelines as our lawn care programs, and works to promote the overall health and nutrition of your landscape. This biological approach is focused on elevating the health of your trees and shrubs, which increases their ability to ward off insects and disease naturally. Our Tree and Shrub Annual Program provides protection from existing insects and disease by utilizing the most advanced insecticides and fungicides to treat existing problems and ensure an ongoing defense against future problems.
I love how beautiful my lawn looks since I switched to TDI a couple of years ago!
We just had TDI out to aerate and seed our lawn with fescue. They knock on the door and asked me why were we doing that. Well, we just moved in in.
An excellent company with a friendly ethical staff committed to customer satisfaction. I would recommend them to anyone.
