Since 1986, Alabama Heat Exchangers has served the petroleum, chemical and energy industries with pressure vessel and heat exchanger production and repair. Our location just yards from Interstate 10 outside Mobile, Alabama (second largest port city on the US Gulf Coast and a major rail hub) enables us to serve local, regional and international customers with multiple low-cost transport options. We've been successful all these years because there are three things we never change: The high level of accumulated skill of our employees, our own high standards of design and workmanship, and our extremely competitive pricing.
The company was founded in 1986 by Rick Lightcap, Senior, whose sales experience in the pressure vessel and heat exchanger sector brought an appreciation for the customer's expectations to the new and growing business. We have access to an excellent, long-term and loyal workforce that consistently builds products that outlast others. All of our welders are qualified to weld most materials under ASME Sec. Ninety-nine percent of our work is built to ASME Section VIII, Division 1, with the remainder fabricated to American Petroleum Institute standards or unique customer specifications.
Alabama Heat Exchangers routinely produces heat exchangers and pressure vessels in accordance with the requirements of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (the ASME U stamp). We also follow the American Petroleum Institute code and work to unique customer specifications when requested. Our repair work meets the requirements of the National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors and is marked with the NBIC "R" stamp.
