Your vehicle's engine sits in an unforgiving environment full of heat and friction. To keep the area from too closely resembling the earth's core, a cooling system removes excess heat and dissipates or relocates it. If this system works poorly, your engine could overheat, causing an assortment of dangerous and costly problems. The passages that surround engine cylinders have antifreeze (also called coolant) flowing through them. When you start the engine, a water pump circulates coolant through the engine, and as the radiator heat intensifies, it flows through that, as well.

Arizona heat can be intense, so having a fully-functional air conditioning system in your car is the only way to drive. While the A/C system keeps the cabin cool, the engine cooling system maintains balance in the engine, and though these systems are separate, they affect each other. For example, if the engine cooling system malfunctions, the air-conditioner could fail as a result. For this reason, maintaining both systems is key to keeping all areas of the vehicle properly climate controlled. First and foremost, keeping the air conditioner working means ensuring its refrigerant stays full.
