Atchley Air is a third generation family-owned business that has been in operation since 1958. After serving his country in World War II, Oren Atchley began looking for a career. At the time, central air conditioning was just starting to catch on in homes across the River Valley. Believing the industry to be in its infancy, Oren decided to become a heating and air conditioning technician and quickly went to work for the Harry G. Barr Company. As the calendar rolled over to 1958, Mr. Barr decided to get out of the heating and cooling business.

One of the most common causes of an A/C system breakdown is dirt. Dirt builds up in the outdoor coil, making your air conditioner less effective and less efficient. It has to work harder and run longer until finally it breaks! Then you're hot, frustrated, and you have to call us. Why not prevent this in the first place with a scheduled preventive maintenance program? Another key item that needs to be addressed on a regular basis is the condensate drain. Your air conditioning system removes humidity from your home.

Eventually every HVAC unit reaches a point where it's no longer sustainable. Perhaps your air conditioner breaks down too often, it no longer cools effectively, or the cost of paying your monthly utility bill is no longer worth the benefits of running the air conditioner itself. While regular maintenance and simple services such as duct cleaning can help to improve your systems efficiency and life span, they can only do so much. When that day comes, Atchley Air is ready to help you with a full air conditioner replacement.

Nobody likes the hot and icky feeling of non-climate controlled air during the summer. When the air conditioner breaks down it's more than just a minor hassle, a sudden spike in humidity or temperature can make things absolutely miserable. We wouldn't want to be left without air conditioning either, that's why we offer 24/7 emergency repair services. The type of cooling system you use won't stop us either. We have experience and training working with traditional HVAC systems, geothermal cooling, reversible heat pumps, and mini-split air conditioners for zoned air conditioning.

It's not just air conditioners that suffer from a lack of routine maintenance. Did you know that a neglected furnace can emit carbon monoxide? Hundreds die every year from this deadly gas, and even more get sick because of it. The primary cause of excessive carbon monoxide in a furnace is the build-up of rust inside the unit. Allowing your furnace to rest unused for six to eight months before running it on full demand can cause damage over time. To prolong the life of your system, perform a full system maintenance before you turn on the furnace for the first time.

Let's face it. There are a lot of homes in the River Valley that simply aren't comfortable. Most use more energy to heat than they should. Many have terrible indoor air quality. Why? Because too many heating and cooling systems have been thrown together and too many corners have been cut. Every step or check that's skipped creates a chance for a future problem. The best way to ensure you get what you're paying for is to follow a proper installation procedure. It all starts with the design. First we inspect your existing system including the ever-important duct-work.

Atchley Air's service team is on a mission - a mission to fix your heating and cooling problems sooner rather than later. If you have an air conditioner in your home, Atchley Air can help. We provide preventative maintenance, repair services, and can replace your old worn-out a/c with a new one. Yes we work on ALL brands. It doesn't matter if the name on the side of your a/c says Carrier, Trane, Lennox, York, Goodman, or anything else, our technicians have the knowledge to get your system in tip top shape. Need to have your existing unit repaired or replaced, but don't have enough money saved? Nothing lasts forever, and even though most people will only purchase a brand new air conditioner once in their lifetime, it does happen.

Our AC went out this past Saturday and Scott was at our house within two hours. He was extremely knowledgeable and professional. I would recommend.

Alex was great to deal with. He has serviced our heating/air conditioning twice (two separate issues) and on both occasions, he was timely, courteous.

Just had an AC system replaced by Atchley Air and it was not performing to my expectations. Dakota came out, in uniform, gig line perfect! He was so.

What's new?
