Born and raised in New England, Curt Kinder received his Bachelor's of Science in Electrical Engineering at Lafayette College in Easton, PA. With 22 years of industrial automation/controls experience and 20 years as a professional engineer, Curt used his knowledge and expertise to start Greener Solutions Air Conditioning Services in Jacksonville, FL.

Geothermal systems take advantage of the Earth's constant temperature (72 degrees in Florida) to provide very efficient heating and cooling. In the summer, heat is extracted from the air in the house and transferred through the heat pump to the ground loop piping. The water in the ground loop then carries the excess heat back to the earth. The only external energy needed for the Geothermal System is the small amount of electricity needed to operate the ground loop pump, fan, and compressor. In winter, the process is reversed in geothermal technology, water circulating through pipes buried in the ground absorbs heat from the earth and carries it to the Geothermal Furnace.

Just like going to the doctor for annual checkups or getting the oil changed in your car, having semi-annual preventative maintenance is an inexpensive way to catch severe problems early and save a lot of money on air conditioning repairs later. If a system is neglected for too long, the damage may be too severe and the whole system may need to be replaced. We recommend scheduling your preventative maintenance in the spring and fall to help ensure that your system is prepared for the upcoming heating/cooling season!
