In 1999 Scott Schoen established Scott's Heating and Cooling. In 2003 the name was changed to Beehive Heating & Cooling LLC due to a duplicate named company of Scott's Heating and Air Conditioning. Since that time, our company has grown considerably, now employing several installation crews, two service mechanics and a full office staff. Over the years, we have performed over 700 installations in the Ocean and Monmouth County area. These installations include residential, commercial and light industrial, as well as the mobile home communities.

Air Sealing is a technique applied to your home using foams and insulations to block all areas of air infiltration and escape. The goal of air sealing is to keep the air your heating and ac systems are creating encapsulated within the walls of your home. As well as the passages used within your walls to pass electrical, HVAC and plumbing from one floor to another. Also, as your home ages, the construction materials used to build your home shrink in size - typically wherever sheetrock meets the wood frame.

Typically, homes are insulated to the minimal codes and standards set forth by the State of New Jersey. As a Building Performance Institute accredited contractor, we are taught that these standards are truly minimal. The insulation used in your attics and crawlspaces typically was installed inadequately, leaving gaps and separations between the sheetrock and framing, as well as between the floors and crawlspaces. We at Beehive Heating and Cooling are trained in the installation of blown-in cellulose insulation.

At Beehive Heating & Cooling LLC, we've been trained for the proper installation of sheetmetal ductwork. Our ductwork is built, designed and installed to adhere to the strictest airflow characteristics. These standards are followed to aid in airflow distribution from the high efficiency equipment we install. Our ductwork is typically insulated on the exterior with foil backed R8 insulation. Should you insulate on the interior or the exterior? A typical problem with lining the interior of the ductwork is the production of mold spores.
