We seal your granite countertops at the time of installation. You may clean your granite with mild soap and water or a disinfectant wipe. How often your granite needs to be sealed depends upon the type of granite you have selected. Most granite requires sealing once a year, however, there are some stones that require it more often (once every six months or once every three months). To determine whether your granite is due for sealing, simply perform a sealer test by placing a wet paper towel on the granite work area for 5 minutes.

Solid surface countertops are composed of minerals, acrylic resins, and colors that are combined to produce a wide range of colors and options. They can be precisely cut and bonded to produce complex designs. Joins and seams are nearly invisible in the hands of a trained craftsman. Solid Surface colors come in a variety of styles and patterns ranging from subtle to dramatic. The color is carried straight through their thickness resulting in a surface that is repairable and extremely durable. Some brands also offer translucent solid surface material which can be lit from behind for dramatic effect.

There are many color options that look like marble, quartz, and even wood grains as well. The"self edge" or the "straight edge" is created when a strip of laminate is placed on the front edge of the counter, then put on the top surface. This treatment leaves a thin line of exposed core which can be used cleverly as an accent.
