We are Cabinets of the Desert. Before incorporating Cabinets of the Desert we were successful builders and remodelers. We built some of the Desert's most energy efficient homes and completed many remodels at various communities, including Palm Valley Country Club, The Lakes Country Club, Woodhaven Country Club, Rancho Santana, and Whitehawk. Driven by our experience in working with other cabinet companies and because cabinetry is such a core component of a remodeling project, we formed a cabinetry company that would be truly responsive to the needs of interior designers, contractors, their clients and also small tract home developers.

Cabinets of the Desert has a California General Contractor's license and can handle all necessary coordination with the trades that are touched by a cabinet installation. Cabinetry is the focal point of any remodel project and as former successful remodeling contractors, we are well qualified to help you, your designer and your general contractor with cabinetry design, selection and installation. Come visit our Palm Desert Showroom to see our quality cabinets for your home renovation. We carry modern to traditional kitchen cabinets, as well as, office, living room, and bathroom cabinets.

We pride ourselves on our close collaboration with architects and interior designers to ensure that the cabinetry element of the project properly reflects your vision and design intent. Before changing our focus to providing and installing high quality cabinetry, Ed was himself a successful builder and remodeler. Ed built some of the Desert's most energy efficient homes and completed many well regarded remodels at various communities, including Palm Valley Country Club, The Lakes Country Club, Rancho Santana, Chaparral, Mission Hills Country Club, and Whitehawk.

Cabinets of the Desert wants its cabinetry clients to be aware of long established kitchen design standards and how they may be flexibly applied to reflect and enhance the contemporary use of a modern kitchen. These standards have an impact on the selection and design of your kitchen cabinetry. In 1944 the University of Illinois conducted a number of studies of kitchen design and developed design principles that are still in use today. They remain the gold standard, although Universal Design and design for Aging in Place go beyond the Illinois guidelines.

The modern bathroom has moved far beyond being a more or less private utility room with a couple of plumbing fixtures. After the kitchen, the bathroom is now one of the most important rooms in the home. The bathroom is now taking on the character of a private spa, a luxurious and comfortable retreat, a place to relax in peace and quiet and style. It is where we start and end the day. But for truly transformational changes you need a professional remodeler, who will have the ability to rearrange the entire bathroom space and perhaps more.

Green remodeling encompasses the areas of energy efficiency, healthy indoor air quality, durability and resource efficiency. Older homes in our Greater Palm Springs Desert area were built when energy was significantly less expensive and have few of the features of new green construction. So a remodel project, which typically involves an older home, provides opportunity to introduce green remodeling concepts. When they were active remodelers the philosophy of the owner of Cabinets of the Desert was to recognize and concentrate upon those elements of green remodeling that directly benefit the health, comfort and pocketbook of the Client.
